When looking to lower your car there are two main roads that you can take, one involves the use of traditional coilover spring setup, where as the alternative relies on a small airbag that offers on the fly adjustment of ride height, and is known for helping those slammed cars get so hard parked. It is important to understand how you will be using your car most prior to choosing a suspension. Each has its own pros and cons, for example air suspension rides great and allows the owner easy adjustment of their ride height, however they are not the first choice for performance track suspension. Don’t get us wrong cars fitted with airlift suspension do find their way around a track on weekends all the time, however if you are looking to have more control over the setup and dampening of your suspension a good set of coil overs is your best choice.

In the case of Ramon’s e92 M3 he likes to drive fast, so this set of KW V3 Coils was a perfect fit for his performance driving. Not only does it dropped the car and give it a more aggressive stance, but it also ramps up the already amazing BMW handling keeping the car flat in the turns. The best part about them is they are fully adjustable meaning you are not limited to one ride height or setting.

Dial in your suspension

With 16 clicks of rebound adjustment, and 12 clicks of bump, you can perfectly dial in all the characteristics of your suspension with KW V3’s. Individually adjustable rebound setup of the KW coilover Variant 3 “inox-line”, allows you to directly influence the handling and comfort with its precise click adjustment. If at anytime you increase your wheel / tire size, you are able to dial in more rebound force via the adjustment wheel, greatly reducing body movements. This will give you more stability during high speed cornering. All these adjustment will allow you to dial in your perfect setup, whether it be track use, autocross, or daily driving applications.

Spaced out with Macht Schnell

We opted to pair these coils with a set of Macht Schnell 10mm spacers; our intentions were to space out the factory wheel setup to get that perfect fitment. Finding the perfect fitment on any vehicle is based on the ratios, varying aspects of tire / wheel to the fender. This spacers push the wheels out towards the fender giving us that flush fitment, as well as the added benefit of a wider track width.

The stock suspension and wheel offset, leave something to be desired. We were able to recommend KW’s V3 Coilover Suspension with not only increasing the performance aspects, the aesthetics were also enhanced with a greatly reduced wheel gap and a flush appearance to the wheels.

The Macht Schnell spacer kit consists of four 10mm spacers for the front and rear, along with 20 extended black wheel bolts to accommodate the increased width.

Now that is how BMW intended the M3 to leave the factory. We are pleased with the result and the best part is with the KW Coilover Suspension the Ramon can continue to play with the settings until they fulfill his needs.
