When our client came to us wanting to add more power to the already impressive output of the 4.0L S65 V8, we were excited to get to work.

The kit consist of  a Crank Accessory Pulley, a Power Steering Pulley and two belts.

While this kit is a direct replacement for the original pulleys, installation requires removing the airbox and fan shroud to gain access to a small area between the front of the engine and the front bumper.

We began by installing a Macht Schnell Performance Underdrive Pulley Kit. This kit consists of two machined 6061-T6 anodized aluminum pulleys, one for the crank accessory and another for the power steering. These performance engineered pulleys are able to reduce the parasitic drag that naturally comes with running accessories off the engine itself. By reducing drag, the pulleys free up power, which then translate to the wheels.

We also installed a set of BMW E9X M3 Turner Motorsport Test Pipes. Increasing airflow is one of the best ways to increase power and by running straight pipes that delete the cats, you eliminate one of the biggest bottlenecks in the system. The result is one of the most cost effective ways to gain power and a raw, growly exhaust note.

The first part of the process involves two simple cuts to remove the cats and swapping over the 02 sensors to the new pipes. From there, the pipes slide over the exhaust and are secured with clamp style couplers.

Considering more power was added, it’s of equal or greater importance to insure the vehicle stops efficiently and reliably. Worn brake pads affect both of those aspects and so we recommended and replaced the old rear pads with brand new meaty OEM brake pads. Supreme stopping confidence is now restored.

By adding these two mods, our client was able to achieve the power gains they desired without breaking the bank.
